Dr Makhetha coordinates Curriculum Development activities in the NUL WTO Chair He is a lecturer and the Head of the Department of Economics at the National University of Lesotho (NUL). In 2022, he was honoured with the Third Prize Peking University Baoping African Studies Distinction Thesis Award. He serves as a board member of the African Economic Research Consortium. Furthermore, he holds the position of being the Lesotho representative in the Finnish-African educational project titled “Business and Sustainable Economic Development: African and European Perspective,” (BUSEDA) contributing to cross-continental collaboration and fostering growth.
His research interests revolve around the intricacies of International Trade and Industrial Policy. Furthermore, he oversees the NUL Innovation Hub, facilitating transformative projects and promoting a culture of innovation within the NUL.

Research Seminar
