
The 3rd NUL-WTO Research Seminar was held on the 5th of September 2024 under the theme ‘Leveraging International Trade for Climate Action in Africa: Opportunities and Challenges for Lesotho.’ held. The seminar brought stakeholders together for a dialogue on how Lesotho should position itself in the context of trade and climate change, in either the regional or multilateral negotiations.
The seminar was held in a hybrid form with participants drawn from academia, government, the private sector, development aid representatives, and other stakeholders. The keynote was delivered by Mr. Eduardo Piquero, a member of the Working Group on Green Finance of the United Nations Initiative for Sustainable Stock Exchanges and CEO of MEXICO2. The seminar attracted over 60 participants from across Africa and Mexico and yielded very fruitful deliberations.
